Area: migrants/foreigners Progressively developed in response to changes in the migratory phenomenon in Italy, it offers counter and residential services for migrants present in our territory for various reasons, as part of paths of protection and social inclusion: asylum seekers and refugees, victims of trafficking and serious exploitation, holders of permits for humanitarian reasons or subsidiary protection.

Area: foreign immigrants and refugees The Migrantes Foundation is the body set up by the Italian Bishops' Conference to accompany and support the particular Churches in their knowledge, evangelisation work and pastoral care of Italian and foreign migrants, to promote in Christian communities attitudes and works of fraternal welcome towards them, to stimulate in civil society the understanding and appreciation of their identity in a climate of peaceful coexistence, with attention to the protection of the rights of the migrant person and family and the promotion of responsible citizenship of migrants.

This is a women's association that was founded in the 1980s in the wake of the movement against sexual violence. It is committed to combating all forms of gender-based violence and promoting activities related to cultural change, awareness-raising and prevention of the phenomenon of violence against women and children. The aim is to activate daytime and residential services aimed at single women and/or women with children who find themselves in situations of violence or family mistreatment; to build institutional and non-institutional networks that can provide multidisciplinary responses to gender-based violence.

The mission of the CEIS is to help the most vulnerable members of society, victims of addiction, homeless or unemployed, and people fleeing their countries, so that they can gain dignity and autonomy and fulfil their potential in the community in which they live. All our interventions are modulated on the basis of the Progetto Uomo philosophy, which places the person at the centre of everything. The rehabilitation process is adapted to the person, the place and the time in which it takes place, and is far removed from welfarism as an end in itself. In fact, it is a long-term process that takes place in three distinct phases: reception, therapeutic community and social reintegration. CEIS operates in different sectors: therapeutic sector, reception, inclusion, prevention and home care.

Area: homeless people Auxilium's services to the homeless began in 1983 and have evolved over the decades in response to the complexity and changes of extreme poverty. At present, because of its wide range of interventions, the Area Persone Senza Dimora represents one of the most important points of reference in the city for people suffering from severe urban marginalisation, whether they are Italian, from the EU or from outside the EU. Starting from the response to basic needs, through the services we try, through professional methods of social accompaniment, to build a system of knowledge, trust and availability with the person. Social intervention tries to restore opportunities so that each person is recognised in a network of meaningful relationships, re-establishing dignity and the right to participate.

Ce.sto is part of the social fabric of Genoa's Old Town, which by its very nature has great difficulties in promoting active citizenship projects and attention to community resources. Resources include the social context, the horizontal structure of the structure, the dynamism of members and operators, training and a focus on current events and other urban regeneration projects at national and international level. Among the main competences are multiculturalism, territorial education, multidisciplinarity of activities and services, strong communication structure, intergenerationality. The voluntary organisation takes care of minors, community centres, school support, first reception and sheltered accommodation for the homeless, accommodation for prisoners, Italian language school for foreigners. The LUZZATI GARDENS are part of the organisation and are dedicated to the care of shared spaces, gardens and vegetable gardens.

Since 1995, Consorzio Agorà has been providing services to individuals, families and businesses. The fields of interest of the Cooperative Agorà are socio-educational (educational and social), socio-health, care, entertainment, recreational, social and labour inclusion, reception and social tourism services. Agorà also participates in the National Project of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies for the inclusion and integration of Roma, Sinti and Caminanti children coordinated by the Istituto degli Innocenti, in order to promote integration in primary and secondary schools in Genoa.

The Centro Storico Ragazzi, legally constituted in 2012 as a Temporary Association of Purpose, works for the care of all young people aged 6-18 years who live in or attend the Historic Centre of Genoa, through after-school and educational activities, recreational and sports activities, support in the difficulties of the school career and growth, and in accompanying job placement. The mission and activities are all related to socio-educational assistance. This translates operationally into proposals and services for minors and their families: reception, socialisation, integration, social support for the person and the family, educational proposals for minors and young people.

The social cooperative Il Sentiero was founded in 2000. Movimento Ragazzi focused on the training of young educators, on educational attention for all young people, on the commitment to support parishes and diocesan bodies. The Movimento adds the commitment to training for educational work and the construction and search for job opportunities for young people. Its mission is to offer educational support to young people and their families over a long period of time. Its activities are those of community centres, day communities, summer centres, territorial education, after-school care, crèches, universal civil service.

The Casa dell'Angelo is a religious organisation divided into four high-intensity residential care educational communities for minors from 6 to 18 years of age and a day-cycle educational community. The mission and activities are all related to socio-educational assistance, with the specificity of operating in the field of child protection and promotion. A Personalised Educational Project is drawn up for each child, which guides the educational approach and the aims of daily pedagogical action, from care to learning. It also welcomes Universal Civil Service projects.

The organisation has been taking in for years, through services accredited with the Municipality of Genoa, minors in difficulty sent by decree of the Juvenile Court or by agreement with the social services to a women's CEAS; there is also a women's "youth hostel". For adults, the key points are job placement and the achievement of housing independence.

The Casa dell'Angelo Custode welcomes children of different sexes and ages (6-18 years) through its four communities. The mission and activities are all related to socio-educational assistance, with the specificity of working in the field of child protection and promotion. Moreover, through the Universal Civil Service it implements specific activities of individual accompaniment for minors, school support, recreational activities.

The aim of the Association is to devote its work and commitment to welcoming and understanding people experiencing extreme urban marginalisation and, in particular, the homeless. Through personal interviews, it provides an initial reception service; it maintains contact with all those who are in contact with the services of "San Marcellino", even if they have not yet developed a project; it follows up the people taken into charge, i.e. those who have developed a significant helping relationship within a project. At present, the Association directly manages the facilities included in the five personal services areas of "San Marcellino":

The association Nuovi Profili was founded in 2008 as a result of the reflections of young Italians of foreign and non-Italian origin, who do not recognise themselves in the definition of 'second generation', and who want to involve citizenship in order to enhance the cultural plurality that makes up the mosaic of today's society. The association has a cultural and didactic centre called Lab.Med (Mediterranean Laboratory), which is part of a territorial redevelopment project in which various services and didactic, linguistic, musical and cultural activities are offered. It is a space created by the Nuovi Profili to make their skills available to the citizens. Lab.Med is also a space open to cultural and training proposals that coincide with the objectives and principles of the Nuovi Profili association.

Defence for Children International Italia today operates autonomously and cooperates with other associations, movements and institutions so that a new cultural model can be affirmed in daily life, which, starting from the promotion of the conditions of childhood and adolescence, finds its foundations in human rights. The organisation works so that children and adolescents are finally recognised as persons and citizens with rights. DCI is involved in the following activities:

• analysis and research - to understand the drivers of human rights violations
• Information, awareness-raising and training - to create awareness, knowledge and skills to help enable adequate protection.
• denouncing violations - so that abuses stop immediately and accountability is established
• Promoting proposals to ensure that policies, laws and strategies are geared towards protecting children's rights.
• supporting and developing programmes to identify good practice in safeguarding and protection that can be replicated; and
• the management of transnational cases involving minors and families as an International Social Service referent
